Payment
Beyond Arts & Music (BAM) collects a $50 enrollment fee from new students, or returning students after a break. A $75 materials fee is collected annually from all students. This materials fee covers the cost of all books, music, class materials, recitals, and performances, ensuring that all students the resources they need for learning, and keeps things simple and easy for families. All registration fees hold your spot in lessons and are non-refundable.
Credit cards are charged a monthly tuition of $150 on the 1st day of each month. Monthly tuition is not tied to the number of lessons/events in any given month. Annual tuition covers 45 learning experiences throughout the year.
Due to operational costs, NO REFUNDS, CREDITS OR TRANSFERS WILL BE ISSUED. A $10 fee will be incurred for late payments beyond the 8th of the month.
Change in Enrollment
We are always sad to see a studio family go. In order to change your enrollment for any reason, please fill out our change in enrollment form here. If you are requesting a different lesson time, please indicate that one the form and we will do our best to accommodate. Monthly tuition payments are made on the 1st of the month. Once payment runs, there will be no refunds given. We will send a confirmation email once we receive your change in enrollment form. You must give 30 days written notice using the above form in order to unenroll from lessons, otherwise you run the risk of being charged for the following month.
Inclement Weather & Breaks
Beyond Arts & Music will make independent decisions related to weather cancellations and schedule breaks. We do not follow the school year calendar of any particular district as well as any cancellations they may have for weather.
Families will be notified via email of any cancellations. We will also post on our Facebook and Instagram pages (be sure to follow along) of any cancellations. In the event of an inclement weather cancellation an alternate lesson time will be offered.
In the event of instructor illness or other unavailability, at the discretion of the studio, a substitute instructor will be provided, or an alternate lesson time will be offered. Due to operational costs, NO REFUNDS, CREDITS OR TRANSFERS WILL BE ISSUED.
Referral Program
You are our best resource for sharing our classes and growing our studio. We are so grateful for any referrals you make, and as a thank you, we offer $10 credit EVERY referral you make (unlimited!). Please make sure your friends indicate on their registration form that you sent them our way and we will gladly share the love!
Class Minimums & Instructor Requests
Beyond Arts & Music reserves the right to change or cancel any lesson that does not meet the minimum requirement for enrollment numbers. If a lesson has fewer than 3 enrolled students, we may ask families to switch classes or cancel the lessons altogether. In these cases, refunds will be given for any changes we make that affect payment.
BAM does not guarantee specific instructors for a particular lesson. Instructors’ schedules are subject to change at any time as well as substitute instructors may be needed on occasion.
Illness/Absence
If a student is ill, and/or have had a fever within the past 24 hours, please opt to stay home and recover. We appreciate your care in not spreading germs to other students and our instructors.
Your lesson spot is reserved just for you! If you need to miss a lesson for any reason, please let us know and indicate in any family portal that we have available. Feel free to register for any free BONUS activities/events that we have throughout the year that we have and BONUS SUMMER LESSONS in June and July.
Acclimation to Lessons
Please allow proper time (we recommend at least 4-6 weeks of consistent lessons) for your child to acclimate to the routines and procedures of each lesson, as well as for our instructors to get to know your child and learn their interests/learning style. Some children take more time than others to feel comfortable in new settings such as a music lesson with their peers. Also, please keep in mind that while your child may be new, others may not, and therefore may be more comfortable with our routines. Your child may just need some time to get there. Give them a chance (read: don’t cancel after the first lesson) to show you their progress. You may just be pleasantly surprised by their growth!

Beyond Arts & Music is conveniently located on Broad Street, in the Bexley Centres plaza. Our address is 2982 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43209. Our convenient location makes it easy for families to join us from Bexley, Eastmoor, Gahanna, Blacklick, German Village, and many other surrounding areas!

Group lessons offer individualized instruction in a fun and encouraging group setting! In each 60-minute lesson students will enjoy one-on-one time working with their instructor, as well as collaboration with their peers. Using games, activities, and appropriate repertoire, catered to each students’ interest and skill, every child will be walking away with a big smile, excited to return to their next lesson. Group lessons offer increased learning time in a fun and collaborative learning environment where new friendships are made.

Annual tuition covers the cost of 45 learning experiences throughout the year. Tuition is divided up into 12 equal installments of $150 per month, charged on the first day of each month. Tuition is not tied to the number of lessons/events in each month. Each day of the week receives the same number of lessons throughout the year.

Tuition covers all events, lessons, recitals, and performances throughout the year, including additional free BONUS events/activities that are scheduled. Keep an eye on your email and our calendar for bonus events!

This makes it super easy for parents to not have to worry about any materials throughout the year!

Your spot in lessons is reserved just for you! In the event of an illness or other student absence, please notify our office and indicate in our parent portal. While we do not do make ups for missed lessons, we do provide additional BONUS events/activities during the year, and you can also take advantage of our BONUS summer lessons offered in June and July. No refunds or credits will be given for missed lessons.

We understand that music lessons are a big commitment. While we do not offer a trial lesson, we do offer a paid trial of a month of lessons. If you are not satisfied with your experience after one month of lessons, we will provide the option to unenroll without penalty. You must indicate your desire to unenroll on or before the 28th of the month, in order to not be charged for the next month of tuition. No refunds or credits will be given of any tuition or fees.

Absolutely! As long as we have space available in lessons we would love to have you join us. Your monthly tuition will be prorated depending on when you join us. All other fees still apply.

A lot goes into scheduling our lessons. We do our best to take into consideration group dynamics, friendships, and most importantly, availability of students and instructors when making our schedule. If you have a specific request for any of the above, please indicate that on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate.

Learning to play an instrument is a lifelong endeavor. That being said, we know that goals and plans change. After the first month of trial lessons, we ask that families make a 6 month commitment to lessons. After 6 months, the following withdrawal policy applies: If you withdraw for any reason, 30 days’ notice must be given in writing by filling out our change in enrollment form change in enrollment form. Enrollment changes cannot be made via email.
